5G PHONES
5G phones continued to dominate China’s smartphone market in November, with the proportion of its shipments in total mobile phone shipments reaching an all-time monthly high of 82.2 percent, an industry report said.
In November, China’s 5G phone shipments amounted to 28.97 million units, a year-on-year increase of 43.9 percent, according to a report by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), a research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
NEV BATTERIES
China’s output of storage batteries to power new energy vehicles (NEVs) leaped 121.8 percent year on year to reach 28.2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) in November as the NEV industry continued to boom, industrial data showed.
The output of lithium iron phosphate batteries stood at 17.8 GWh last month, jumping 229.2 percent from a year ago, data from the China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance showed.
China also produced 10.4 GWh of ternary lithium batteries during the period, up 42.6 percent year on year, the data showed.
RARE-DISEASE DRUGS
More than 60 rare-disease drugs have been approved for marketing in China, of which over 40 are included in the national medical insurance system, according to official data.
China’s medicare reimbursement list now covers medications for 25 rare diseases, according to figures released at a national conference on rare diseases held in Beijing on Saturday.
