Baltimore beat Dallas 34-31 in Week 3 on a 56-yard field goal with one second remaining, a finish assembled in about seven seconds of game time. Trailing by three late, Lamar Jackson found Zay Flowers for 27 yards to the Dallas 38, the Ravens burned their timeout immediately, and Tyler Loop, who had missed the kick that ended Baltimore’s season a year ago, drilled the winner.
Jackson finished with 236 total yards and two touchdowns, and Flowers, returning from injury, led Baltimore’s receivers with 84 yards on five catches. Derrick Henry ran for 89 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries, passing Eric Dickerson to move into ninth place on the all-time rushing list, a milestone reached in the middle of a divisional race.
Dallas was hardly passive in defeat. Dak Prescott produced 295 total yards and two touchdowns, Javonte Williams led all rushers with 98 yards and a score, and CeeDee Lamb caught seven passes for 112 yards as the Cowboys piled up 27 first downs and 415 yards of offense, and still lost, which is the sort of sentence that defines Septembers in Dallas.
The win moved Baltimore to 2-1; Dallas fell to 1-2. In a conference where seeding tiebreakers are settled by results exactly like this one, a Week 3 road win by a kick may echo in January, particularly for a Ravens team that has spent two years losing games in the final seconds rather than winning them.
For Loop, the kick completes a redemption arc his franchise badly wanted for him. For everyone else, it was the week’s best argument that the NFL’s most valuable skill remains the oldest one: eleven seconds, forty yards of offense, and a kicker who does not blink.
Henry’s milestone carries its own weight in the Ravens’ huddle: ninth in career rushing yards, achieved while still functioning as the engine of an offence that asks him to close games in the fourth quarter. For Dallas, the defeat fits an early-season pattern of offensive abundance and defensive generosity that its schedule will not forgive for long. Both teams left the field believing the rematch, if January provides one, would be worth watching, and on this evidence it would.
