Dallas lost the game and won an argument about its best player. In the Cowboys’ 34-31 defeat by Baltimore in the NFL’s Rio game, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb caught seven passes for 112 yards, the most productive receiving night on either sideline, in a game Dallas led late and lost on a 56-yard field goal as time expired.
Lamb’s evening is worth isolating because it shows what the Cowboys’ offense is built to do: move him across formations, let Dak Prescott find him at every depth, and lean on him when drives stall. Prescott finished with 295 total yards and Dallas piled up 27 first downs and 415 yards, numbers that usually win, which is why the film below stings in Dallas and instructs everywhere else.
The video below, from the NFL’s official YouTube channel, collects every Lamb catch from the game in sequence. Watch how Baltimore’s coverage tilts toward him snap by snap, and how often Dallas moves him anyway, the clearest available portrait of a receiver defences scheme against and still cannot remove.
